In this hands-on, growth-oriented role, you will play an active part across the full investment cycle—from researching emerging tech trends and building investment theses to evaluating early-stage opportunities and collaborating directly with portfolio companies.

Since 2005, Monashees has been a pioneer in Latin America's venture capital ecosystem, partnering with founders from their very first steps through every stage of growth. Today, our community spans over 150 companies and 300 founders impacting millions of lives across the region. As an Investment Associate, you will work closely with senior investors and entrepreneurs, operating with high ownership, continuous exposure, and a shared mission to transform markets through technology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market research on emerging sectors and technologies to help develop and evolve strategic investment theses.
• Source new investment opportunities and establish strong, authentic relationships with founders across Latin America.
• Analyze early-stage business models, unit economics, competitive dynamics, and key growth metrics.
• Lead and support thorough due diligence efforts across product, team, market viability, and references.
• Author comprehensive internal investment memos and materials that shape key investment decisions.
• Collaborate with portfolio founders on strategic topics such as executive hiring, fundraising, and go-to-market expansion.
• Track performance, milestones, and portfolio updates for select community companies.
• Contribute to internal firm-building initiatives, continuous learning projects, and ecosystem events.

Mandatory Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 2 to 5 years of professional experience in venture capital, high-growth startups, management consulting, investment banking, or technology.
• Proven track record of excellence, high execution capability, and strong strategic insight in previous roles.
• Demonstrated familiarity with and connection to the Latin American technology ecosystem.
• Fluency in both English and Portuguese.

Nice-to-Haves

• Proficiency or fluency in Spanish.
• Hands-on experience working directly with early-stage tech founders or building strategic initiatives within the LatAm ecosystem.
